Samburesti lies in southern Romania, approximately 30 km from the Dragasani vineyard, in a landscape where the Getic hills meet the elongated slopes of the southern Piedmont. Unlike many other vineyards in Oltenia, Samburesti has developed a particularly strong reputation for red wine production.

The vineyard's rolling hills, favourable exposures and warm continental conditions provide an excellent environment for red grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot have become especially important here, producing structured and expressive wines that have helped define the modern identity of Samburesti.

The Samburesti vineyard forms part of the wine landscape of Oltenia and includes the communes of Dobroteasa, Samburesti and Vitomiresti in the northern part of Olt county. Its viticultural landscape is defined by a succession of hills, including Bolindetu, Rosulesti, Petria, Vifura and Grosarea, where vineyards occupy many of the favourable slopes.

Samburesti is particularly associated with red wines. Cabernet Sauvignon has become one of the defining varieties of the vineyard, benefiting from the warm growing conditions and hillside exposures to produce deeply coloured, structured wines with considerable ageing potential.

Merlot also performs particularly well in Samburesti, contributing softer textures, ripe fruit character and balance. Together with Cabernet Sauvignon, it forms an important part of the vineyard's contemporary identity and demonstrates the suitability of this part of Oltenia for high-quality red wine production.

Around Vitomiresti, vineyards extend across the Vifura and Dejesti hills, adding further diversity to the local terroir. The combination of elevation, exposure and continental climatic influences provides favourable conditions for achieving full phenolic ripeness while maintaining the structure required for serious red wines. Samburesti therefore occupies a distinctive position within Oltenia: a vineyard whose modern reputation is closely linked to the strength and character of its reds.
